At the exit of Polgár of motorway M3, M3 Archeopark can be found. In the recreation park on nearly 5 hectares an archeological and local history exhibition can be seen that shows the unrivalled flora and fauna of Northern Great Plain, a house from the Neolithic Age that is unique in Europe, the native animals of the Hungarian puszta and its ethnographic features, the cultural heritage of the area and values of cultural history. Visitors can enjoy gastronomic and traditional programmes, as well as equestrian programmes here. You can get here from Debrecen in about forty minutes on the motorway.
as the second largest town in Hajdú-Bihar County it is a location that bears its historic nature in its appearance. In this town known as the central town for Hajdú people one of the oldest buildings of Hajdú-Bihar county can be found namely the Hajdúság Museum, as well as the outdoor rural museum representing folk architecture. In the open-air bath of the town modern pools with strained water surface, modern pools for children, renewed pools with thermal water and a part with medicinal water await visitors. In the area surrounded by the River Tisza, Berettyó Körös (Püspökladány, Berettyóújfalu, Komádi and Füzesgyarmat) an untouched area surrounds visitors as if no man had entered it. Herons, spoonbills go fishing in the reeds, a goat-herd tends goats, in the pens (mixed) pigs lie everywhere. Here the habitat is a flooded area for resting the good quality of meadows. It can be reached less than in an hour by car.
The town situated by the River Körös used to be the central town of the whole area of Bihar. Even today in the vicinity of Debrecen a strong cultural and economic centre on the Romanian side. It is 70 km far form Debrecen by car in about one hour time. Sights: King Saint Ladislaw’s herm, Bishop’s Palace, Saint Michael Church, Town Hall, Eagle Palace, Moskovits Palace, Vigadó, Café Royal, Café EMKE, Café Pannónia and Café Elite as well as Szigligeti Theatre.
